Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp is a superb, stylish camp located on its 27,000 acre private concession on the south-eastern side of the Masai Mara. The camp is set on a hilltop with views for a dozen miles all the way to Tanzania, across rolling hills and expansive open plains dotted with acacia trees.

Accommodation
This elegant camp is owned by Calvin and Louise Cottar, whose family have been operating safaris since 1919, and it’s run with a good sense of style. The nine huge tents are spread out across the hillside affording fine views, and little colonial touches abound, from historical photographs to artefacts from a bygone era. It is one of the few tented camps in the Masai Mara with a swimming pool, while the spa and massage area provides a haven of peace and tranquillity.
