School Holiday Safaris

With children, you’re often tied to travel at Christmas, Easter or in the summer.  Call us to discuss which locations are best for the kind of safari you’re seeking at the time of year you wish to travel.  We’ll take into account the weather patterns, the main animal migrations and best beach options to create the perfect family safari.

The long summer holiday is an excellent time to be on safari.  All Africa’s dry seasons coincide in July to September, and it’s prime time to see the vast wildebeest migration in the Masai Mara.  For families with teenagers seeking a more active holiday, game viewing conditions are superb for a Zambia safari or one in Southern Tanzania.

Christmas is often pressured by flight availability so call us as early as you can.  It’s a superb time to see the migration massing on the southern Serengeti plains and the weather is usually clear and dry throughout East Africa.  So a few days on sunny Zanzibar might be the ideal way to round off a perfect Christmas holiday before returning to freezing conditions at home.    Exclusive Botswana is also excellent value for money in December – a week in the Okavango blends well with time in the glorious Cape.

If you want to travel at Easter Botswana is also a good choice.  Not only is the Okavango full of exciting wildlife, this is also the best time of year to head into the desert regions of Nxai and Makgadikgadi to see meerkats and desert migrations.  Next door is Victoria Falls which is at its biggest and most spectacular at that time.  The falls are also a versatile place to relax and enjoy adventures for a few days after a Botswana safari.

It’s important to get a family safari absolutely right, so contact us now to begin your planning.
