Chiefs Camp

Chiefs Camp is a luxury bush camp situated in a seasonal delta region known as the “predator capital” of Africa – an area to the northwest of Chiefs Island in the Mombo concession of the Okavango Delta. Lagoons, waterways, Mopani and acacia woodlands make up this rich landscape.

The accommodation consists of 12 luxury bush chalets with four poster beds, en-suite facilities and spacious decked seating areas. The chalets have been designed for privacy and comfort with great attention to detail. The main area is set under a grove of jackalberry trees and includes a lounge, bar, dining area, library, viewing deck and swimming pool where relaxing spa treatments are offered. The floodplain is illuminated at night and the views from the decked areas are magnificent.

The area is home to the Big 5 and Chiefs Camp is known for its large concentrations of buffalo, cheetah, leopard, lion, hippo, wild dog and plains game. Rhino has recently been successfully re-introduced to the area.

Activities include traditional game viewing, exploring the waterways of the delta on a mekoro safari and walking safaris – accompanied by a highly expert guide. The quality of guiding at Chiefs Camp is excellent.
