Kwetsani Camp

If you’ve dreamed of lounging in a tree-house, staring down at Africa’s wetland animals, Kwetsani Camp is for you. Located in the Okavango Delta, Kwetsani is the ideal safari get-away. Narrow channels of water meander through papyrus/reed beds, creating lush palm islands fringed with forests. Here Kwetsani Camp was built, offering magnificent Delta views.

Kwetsani’s five furnished tree-house chalets really will put you above it all. You’ll relax in an incredible combination of glass, canvas, thatch and wood, with en-suite bathroom. Dine or sip drinks under a cool thatched-roof boma. Watch wildebeest, tsessebe, lechwe and other plain’s animals from the dining area, communal pool or the heights of your chalet.

Kwetsani offers both game drives and water activities. Summer guests enjoy more land activities, while winter visitors appreciate water activities, depending on rainfall for that year. Game drives are available day or night, offering spotlighting for the best view of nocturnal animals. Enjoy guided safaris of creations best from open 4x4 Land Rovers or walk a short distance from camp on a guided foot safari and discover a whole new wild-side.

Wildlife viewing by mekoro (traditional dug-out canoe) is a once-in-a-lifetime thrill. Guests can enjoy boating in waterways west of Kwetsani or fish on a catch-and-release basis. For the more adventurous - explore the areas islands on foot or better still, plan a sleep-away in a raised ‘hide’ located 20 minutes from camp. Plan your ‘camp-away-from-camp’ for up to six.

Whether lounging in your tree-top chalet or staying up for the night in the hide, watch for the region’s abundant wildlife. While lion, leopard and cheetah are the area celebrities, hippo, antelope and crocodile dwell in lily-filled lagoons nearby. Night time lures out porcupine, aardwolf, spotted genet and playful bushbabies. Kwetsani is also well known for its lion populations and participates in the Jao Lion Monitoring Project which documents the movement, social behavior and condition of individual lions.

In the dry season, elephant, wildebeest and zebra seem to be everywhere, with dozens of other species not far away. There are hundreds of species of common birds as well as a large concentration of the endangered Wattled Crane.

Whatever your dream of Africa, Kwetsani Camp allows you to experience the magic of this continent in great comfort. The beauty is incomparable, the experience unforgettable.
