Why the Queen Elizabeth National Park?
The only other place where lions are known to climb trees is at Tanzania’s Lake Manyara. No one is quite sure why the big cats have taken to the trees like this, but it sure makes for excellent photos. Queen Elizabeth National Park is also known for being one of the finest places to see chimpanzees.
Most wildlife congregates along the Kazinga Channel, a major water source within the park and an ideal location to set up for wildlife viewing. Watch hippos come up for air as crocodiles lie motionless on the banks, see elephants and buffalo ambling over to the water from the golden grasslands on which large herds can be found. You can also spot leopard, hyena and a dazzling variety of birds during your time in Queen Elizabeth Park.
