Silhouette Island is the third largest island in the Seychelles, exceeded only by Mahé and Praslin. It is a truly beautiful island with much more to offer than its smaller size would indicate. Silhouette Island is very mountainous.
The island eco-system is home to various plant and animal species that are endemic (the vibrant coral barrier reefs), threatened (Seychelles sheath-tailed bat and Arnold’s Giant Tortoises) and critically endangered (wild Seychelles giant tortoises).
For the outdoor enthusiasts, there is more than enough hiking and scuba diving to keep you busy for days. The high-jetting peaks of the surrounding mountains on Silhouette Island make for many challenging hikes. The impressive views found at the summit of the peaks will never leave you wishing for more as you look out at all of the natural beauty found in the area. The beautiful coral barrier reefs offer an amazing beach holiday experience, as there are many excellent dive sites.
