Explore Africa

Why should Africa be the place you choose for your next holiday? What does it have that makes Africa uniquely special, and would you enjoy a holiday there?

The overwhelming attraction of Africa is its wildlife and the vast, spectacularly wild places where they live.  The essence of a good safari is that it allows you the privilege of staying in these wild places, miles from anywhere, in surprising comfort.   You and a few others may have hundreds of square miles of savannah plains, ancient hills and rivers all to yourselves, enjoying expertly guided safaris among elephants leopard and giraffe in their natural beauty.  Then at the end of the day a delicious four course dinner in good company.  Drop off to sleep to distant sounds of Africa, sweet dreams.....then awake to a dawn chorus of bird calls, hippos laughing and a cup of good hot coffee to prepare you for the new day’s adventure.

These places have not changed in a thousand years.  They are a timeless haven from our rushing world of deadlines, 24 hour news and mobile phones.  Some of our regular clients take root for a week or more in one safari camp sometimes just sitting by the Luangwa River with a good book, a cool drink and a pair of binoculars.  Others love to walk, exploring the bush with an armed guide, tracking animals, witnessing events they will remember forever.  Some like to come back to astonishingly palatial accommodation, like Londolozi, while others believe that a safari only feels right under canvas – even if the canvas shelters a king size bed, furniture, and full en-suite bathroom.

It’s not surprising that many people feel an indefinable sense of being “at home” in Africa’s big open spaces.  Then after the safari you can enjoy Cape Town and the glorious wine country, the magnificence of Victoria Falls or your choice of a dozen luxurious tropical beaches complete with their underwater paradise of pristine coral gardens.

These country pages will introduce you to what each unique African country has to offer.  They are all different, with a bewildering range of options, climates and places to stay.  Our advice is not to try and “do it yourself” but to give us a call and we will listen carefully and create that ideal sequence of places in an itinerary that will suit just you perfectly.
