Kenya Safaris

When you close your eyes and dream of Africa you’ll probably see Kenya with its rolling plains, flat topped acacia trees, lakes full of flamingos and Mount Kilimanjaro shimmering in the distance. It is a land where you can float in a balloon above a million wildebeest and zebra making their long migration across the Masai Mara, and can listen to the timeless stories of your scarlet clad Masaai guide as you sit around the campfire under a star filled sky.

In years gone by a safari to Kenya involved long dusty minibus journeys between three star safari hotels. Now, Africa Exclusive can take you quickly and easily by small plane to a series of beautifully designed exclusive camps and lodges to enjoy a safari of a lifetime in privacy and comfort. These lodges are usually on private game reserves owned by the local tribal community who participate in the conservation and who share the financial benefits of this eco –tourism.

To derive the greatest benefit from a visit to Kenya we recommend staying at three different camps and lodges in contrasting scenery where you can enjoy different safari experiences, perhaps combining this with a stay on a small island like Lamu, or there are easy links to Seychelles and Mauritius.

8 hours from London with a couple of hours time difference makes Kenya easy to reach even for a short break. The coastal options make it a good choice for a honeymoon. Families love Kenya and some lodges have special two bedroom family accommodation complete with your own pool and private safari guide!

"My mind is in the Mara imagining thousands of wilderbeest and zebra and their erratic river crossings. My soul is in Tsavo West with bewilderingly beautiful hills, green trees and riverine forest. This to me is African wilderness. The hippos, the elephants, the crocs and the birds are still calling me. My toes are still dipping in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean at Watamu beach. Thank you for arranging such a wonderful holiday"
