Loisaba Lodge

The Loisaba Lodge situated in a 93 miles² wildlife conservancy and working cattle ranch on the edge of the Laikipia Plateau looking south towards Mount Kenya in Kenya’s rugged Northern frontier only a few miles from the equator.

The lodge is constructed from sustainable materials that have been gathered from the ranch. The main lodge has 7 rooms with en-suite bathrooms and French doors that open onto private verandas cantilevered off the escarpment offering magnificent views over the plains and untamed bush towards Mount Kenya. There are also three star bedded platforms where you can sleep out in the open with only the stars and vast open African sky as your ceiling. For families or those of you who would prefer complete privacy there is an exclusive self contained private cottage with two double bedrooms where you will have your own staff, car and guide a well as access to the main lodge’s facilities including the spa, swimming pool and tennis court.

The surrounding wilderness is a haven for more than 250 species of birds and 50 species of wildlife. Besides the resident elephants, buffalo, grevy zebra and greater kudu the area is also gaining a reputation for exceptional big cat and wild dog sightings. A stay at Loisaba Lodge will give you a rare insight into the unique culture and traditional way of life of the nomadic Samburu and Laikipiak Maasai people that inhabit the area.

During your stay you will enjoy privately guided game drives, bush walks with an armed guide, horse riding excursions, camel trekking along the river, quad biking and visits to the cattle ranch and local community village.
