The Residence

Situated on the East Coast of Mauritius in extensive and verdant grounds, The Residence borders one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. With its luxurious amenities, a breathtaking location and unparalleled service, The Residence has recreated the style and elegance that once existed in Mauritius in the 1920’s.

The 163 luxuriously appointed rooms and suites each have a private balcony, patio or terrace. The spacious marble en suite bathrooms have a bathtub and separate shower, as well as a vast walk-in wardrobe with an electronic safe. Facilities include butler service in every room, air-conditioning and satellite television. The Colonial Garden View rooms have beautiful views over the tropical gardens, the Colonial Ocean View rooms have a partial view of the ocean across the gardens, while the Colonial Ocean Front rooms face directly on to the ocean, with views over the turquoise lagoons. In mid-2004, The Residence introduced eight new stunning suites as well, together with extensive landscaping of their manicured gardens.

Guests can enjoy sunbathing around the pool, a splash in the jacuzzi or a massage in ‘The Sanctuary’. Delicious food is served in the shade of ‘The Verandah’ and in ‘The Dining Room’. Amenities include a Bureau de change, a tour and excursion service, a car rental service, boutiques, a hairdresser and a beauty salon.

The hotel offers a wide variety of complimentary water sports including water skiing, wind surfing, Hobie Cats, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boats, glass-bottomed boats and snorkelling. Deep sea fishing, catamaran cruises, undersea walks and scuba diving are available off site at an additional cost.

For children The Planters Kids Club is complimentary and provides endless entertainment between the hours of 0900 and 2200 including treasure hunts, pony rides, glass bottom boat trips and much more.
