Londolozi Private Game Reserve

Londolozi Private Game Reserve is an unashamedly luxurious family owned private reserve in the heart of the Sabi Sands Reserve in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The camp is owned by the Varty family who have gained global recognition over the years for their contribution to wildlife conservation. The word Londolozi means “the protector of all living things” in Zulu.

The reserve consists of four exclusive camps and one safari lodge, each with luxury chalets and tranquil suites with private plunge pools and wooden decks overlooking the tranquil waters of the Sand River. Each of the luxurious en-suite bathrooms has panoramic views of the surrounding bush.

Dining at Londolozi is a sumptuous affair and you will be able to enjoy romantic moonlit bush dinners followed by guided star gazing and early morning bush breakfasts before heading out for your early morning game drive. If you prefer the comfort and security of the camp you can enjoy the delicious Pan African cuisine from the spacious dining room that overlooks the Sand River. You will even have the opportunity to select the wine to accompany your meal from the temperature controlled cellar. If there is a particular vintage that you have enjoyed the staff will wrap up a bottle and post it to your home address for you to enjoy as you ponder on your wonderful safari memories. This is just one example of the many thoughtful luxuries that sets Londolozi apart from many of the other safari camps in Africa.

Londolozi is also the perfect destination for those who want to experience almost guaranteed Big Five game viewing and is undoubtedly one of the best places in Africa for leopard viewing. Other wildlife you may come across on your game viewing activities is impala, kudu, giraffe, buffalo and lion. There is also excellent bird watching with over 40 species of raptors including the hooded vulture, secretary bird, African fish eagle, bateleu, brown snake eagle, dark chanting goshawk and the giant eagle owl. If you would like to include a cultural element to your safari you may want to take the opportunity to visit the Shangaan Village and Craft Centre where you will have the opportunity to interact with the local villagers as they go about their everyday life.

Londolozi has a luxurious wellness centre where you will be able to partake in various activities ranging from high octane bush running to more sedate yoga classes or for the ultimate in relaxation you can enjoy a soothing aromatherapy massage by one of the camps professional masseurs. Other activities include adventure tracking, all day walking expeditions, overnight bush sleep outs and fishing in the Sand River.

"Our trip was no less than phenomenal. It is hard to describe but every aspect was fantastic. We could not have been happier than we were with Londolozi. It is an authentic safari experience led by expert guides and trackers and the attention to detail was quite satisfactory. It was elegant without being glitzy. The staff were all knowledgeable, warm and welcoming."
