Lake Manyara Tree Lodge

Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is set in the heart of an ancient mahogany forest, close to an exquisite soda within the Lake Manyara National Park in the Arusha region of Northern Tanzania.

Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is a sophisticated blend of intimacy and romance, offering privacy and exclusivity in cool, leafy surrounds. The lodge has 10 spacious tree houses crafted from local timber and makuti (palm fronds) which are built on stilts in the boughs of the mahogany trees. The light and airy tree houses are tastefully decorated in a combination of natural fibres, pure cotton linen, contemporary furnishings and Dodoma artworks. The en-suite bedrooms have four poster bed like drapings with mosquito nets, overhead fans and outdoor showers. The tree houses also have private verandas with comfortable furniture where you can sit and enjoy extensive views of the lovely forest environment. Your meals will be prepared in an interactive kitchen where you can watch the chefs as they prepare wonderful Pan African cuisine and in the open air boma, the fragrant aromas of fresh spices fill the air as sublime dishes are prepared in Tandoori ovens.

Vehicular access to the Lake Manyara National Park is limited which makes it the perfect location for walking safaris with a Maasai naturalist and a highly experienced ranger or horse riding and mountain biking. You will also be able to explore the dynamic ecosystem of the soda lake by boat or you can canoe down the tranquil waters, watching as the gregarious long legged flamingos stamp their webbed feet in the mud. You will also encounter flocks of pelicans, with their enormous pouched bills and a history dating back some 40 million years. You may even see the legendary tree climbing lions, which the lodge is renowned for, resting in one their favourite spots.
