Islands of Siankaba
The Islands of Siankaba is a classic forested retreat situated on two connecting islands on the mighty Zambezi River, close to the Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park in Zambia.
Often referred to as “the jewel of the Zambezi”, this exclusive retreat has just 7 teak and canvas chalets raised well above ground level in the tree canopy. The subtle architecture blends seamlessly with the forest creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. The only sounds you will hear are from the birds and the distant Zambezi rapids.
A wood and rope suspension bridge links the two islands. This winding overhead walkway means that you never actually walk on the islands surface, thus protecting the fragile riverine environment beneath. On the one island are the chalets and on the other is the communal dining, bar, lounge area and shady swimming pool area which is an ideal place to relax and enjoy an afternoon drink. One of the distinct features at Siankaba is the superb quality of its food and wine having gained the reputation for gastronomic excellence with first class service.
The activities are varied and cater for all interests. They include fishing, river cruises, guided island walks, visits to the local village, helicopter and microlight flights over the Victoria Falls and day visits to the Chobe National Park.
