The Royal Livingstone

The Royal Livingstone is a luxurious 5 star hotel situated only moments away from the thundering torrents of the Victoria Falls in Zambia.

This luxurious hotel consists of 17 colonial style buildings shaded by indigenous trees and plants. The interiors are a gracious combination of colonial antiques and ethnic influences which blend effortlessly to capture the elegance of times gone by. Pass lazy days on your private veranda from where you can watch the fine spray of the Zambezi rise like a cloud over the surrounding bushveld, throwing rainbows into the air. Dine indoors under softly lit chandeliers or on the terrace where the cool river breeze stirs the night air.

The Royal Livingstone is well situated for guests to take advantage of the wonderful variety of activities on offer around the Falls. For the golf enthusiastic there is the nearby 18 hole Livingstone Royal Golf Glub, which was established in 1908 and fully restored to its former glory in 2006. It is situated in a magnificent and unique setting with some 120 species of trees. Make use of the Edwardian Club House which extends a very warm welcome and fine cuisine to visitors. Bungee jumps, white water rafting, helicopter flights, sunset cruises, hot air ballooning and romantic steam train journeys are a few more examples of the type of activities on offer.

If relaxation and pampering is more to your style you can indulge in some of the beauty treatments available in the privacy and comfort of your own room. Whatever your preference, this earthy Eden provides a secluded retreat ticks all the boxes.

The Royal Livingstone was excellent. The Falls, as you know, are at their lowest in November but we did take the plunge into Devils' Pool which was heart-stopping. We never thought we'd do this.
