Tongabezi Lodge

Tongabezi Lodge is an exclusive and luxurious romantic hideaway on the banks of a sweeping bend on the Zambezi River approximately 15km’s upstream from the Victoria Falls, facing west towards the sunset.

The lodge can accommodate a maximum of 18 guests in five luxury cottages and four spacious open plan stone and thatch houses all of which have magnificent views of the Zambezi River. The interiors are luxurious. Four poster beds draped with mosquito nets, screeded mud coloured floors scattered with Persian rugs, comfortable leather sofas furnished with hand woven African print cushions and local African sculptures and artwork on the walls complete the flowing design of the rooms. You will also have your own personal valet who will accompany you throughout your stay and whose in- depth knowledge of the surrounding area will give you a unique insight into the wildlife and culture of this beautiful area.

The lodge also has a sparkling swimming pool that has been built into the rock cliff from where you can enjoy the all consuming panoramic views of the mighty Zambezi River as you cool off after a picnic lunch on one of the rivers many islands. The food at the lodge is first class and you can enjoy your meals on the banks of the river or in privacy on your private veranda.

Although Tongabezi Lodge is not a game lodge, the Zambezi National Park is on the other side of the river and there is a rich diversity of birdlife as well as regular sightings of hippopotamus on the river’s edge.

The lodge is perfectly located for visits to the Victoria Falls, the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and the museums and colourful markets at Livingstone. There is a large range of activities to enjoy including boat trips, canoeing, white river rafting, horse riding and tiger fishing.
