Zarafa Wins Best Safari Property at the Good Safari Guide Awards

Zarafa Camp left the Good Safari Guide Awards with a whole host of new titles including, Best Safari Property in Southern Africa, Best Ecological Safari Property Runner Up and Best Overall Safari Property in Africa!

Zarafa is one of the most exclusive Botswana safari camps and it’s easy to see why it picked up so many awards! There are four luxurious tents meaning the maximum number of guests here at any one time is just eight. The focus here is really on the personable and hospitable service you’ll receive and the private, tranquil safari experience.

Your activities will be arranged around your own interests and the days are entirely flexible.  The camp is set on a private wildlife area on the floodplains on of the Selinda Spillway and there’s a lot to see in such a fantastic wildlife area. Elephant, wild dog, antelope, hyena, lion, cheetah and leopard are all seen frequently. If you’re a birding enthusiast there are lots of water birds to be seen on the Zibadianja Lagoon – also home to hippo and crocs! You’ll be able to explore the area by pontoon boat, on foot and in one of the camp’s specially designed 4×4 vehicles. There’s no doubt that your safari will be filled with superb wildlife sightings and many great photo opportunities! (This camp caters particularly well for keen photographers with specially adapted vehicles, guides knowledgeable in the photography field and specialist equipment.)

Accommodation at Zarafa is second to none. Each of the spacious, marquee-style tents has wonderful views and its own private plunge pool too. The suites comprise a vast bedroom, en-suite bathroom and a separate lounge. Every piece of furniture has been handcrafted especially for the camp and is made from recycled ancient hardwoods.

With so much to see and do, fascinating wildlife, impeccable service and superb accommodation, Zarafa provides the safari experience of a lifetime.

Luxury safari pricing guide

We aim to provide you with your ideal holiday, individually designed just for you and expertly organised. When you book with us you receive this perfectly designed holiday, travel advice and preparation, flawless organisation of the trip, ATOL financial protection and our 25 years’ experience. Because we have excellent confidential rates with lodges and airlines, the price of your holiday will be generally the same as you would pay were you to somehow book all the lodges, transfers and flights yourself.

There is a world of difference between one of our tailormade safaris and most package holidays printed in a brochure. Package holidays are usually designed to be as cheap as possible and of course involve large numbers of people doing the same thing. Our safaris use small, more exclusive and remote camps usually with guests flying in, and often virtually everything is included in the price. The experience is completely different.

Many of these small lodges and camps have broadly similar prices, and it is possible to arrange a superb two week safari for between £4,000 to £7,000 per person ($7,000 – $11,000) season dependant, all inclusive. Realistically it is difficult to reduce that figure, and by including Botswana in peak season, chartering a private plane, disappearing to some magical desert island, or flying at the front of the plane it’s easy to substantially increase that figure!
