Location
The bustling and vibrant town of Arusha, overlooked by Mount Meru, is the starting point of most safaris in northern Tanzania. Situated on the outskirts of the town, hidden amongst one of the country’s largest coffee plantations, is one of the best hotels. Arusha Coffee Lodge, part of the renowned Elewana Collection.
Accomodation
Designed around traditional plantation houses, the lodge consists of 30 luxurious cottages all creatively decorated and positioned to honour privacy. Your room will provide a comfortable king-sized or twin bed, inviting log fires, stylish furniture, interesting coffee themed artefacts and elegant en-suite bathrooms. For a little more room and an upgrade of luxury, choose one of 12 Plantation Suites.
One of the most appealing features is the private wooden deck attached to each cottage which overlooks the coffee plantation. As many guests arrive late in the evening, the deck offers an excellent morning view to experience your first sights and sounds of Africa. You may catch a glimpse of the first wildlife of your safari as vervet monkeys can be seen clambering through the trees.

The lodge has a wonderful bar and central lounge area which offers a great atmosphere, an excellent à la carte restaurant with indoor or terraced seating, its own pizza oven and of course a coffee station. Log fires keep all of the main areas toasty warm. There is also an enclosed swimming pool area and attractive gardens to take a gentle stroll around.

- Head off into the national park to spot colourful birds, plains game and monkeys including the black-and-white colobus.

Conservation
Elewana, Arusha Coffee Lodge’s parent company embraces the responsibility of helping to protect both the habitat in which wildlife lives as well as specific vulnerable and endangered wildlife species. They have been pioneers in supporting what they call “Parks Beyond Parks” - conservation areas that lie outside of nationally protected parks. In total they play a key role in protecting land extending to over 1.36 million acres.
Environment
For every bed night spent at Arusha Coffee Lodge, Elewana will donate $1 per guest towards their “Land & Life Foundation”. A foundation which works closely with schools and clinics to tackle issues of education and health by helping to identify their development priorities and raise funds from travelling philanthropists to finance their requests, whether for supplies, infrastructure, or training.
