Having watched the sunset over the Serengeti to the west while sipping a cold drink around the campfire, dining when possible is experienced out under the stars, enhancing the sense that you are in the heart of the African wilderness as you discuss stories of safari adventures over sumptuous cuisine
Experiences
- Exclusive game viewing. It takes less than 30 minutes to reach the crater floor from the camp. This proximity means guests staying at the camp can enjoy the stunning scenery and high-quality game-viewing before the traffic builds up.
- Explore even further. When the crater becomes busy, you have the opportunity to leave and head off to explore the surrounding area or one of the other smaller craters, before returning to the camp.
- Lunch on the crater rim. It's an unforgettable experience to tuck into a delicious picnic on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater.
- Take a slow guided walk with your guide and a member of the local Maasai community tracking wildlife and learning first-hand about Maasai beliefs and the surrounding medicine plants.
- Enrich yourself with an intimate visit to our Maasai neighbours, who still lead a largely traditional life in the boma in the next valley.

Conservation
Entamanu’s parent company; Nomad partners with KopeLion, a conservation charity working with local Masai and other pastoralists to foster human-lion coexistence in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and protect corridors of lion movement in and out of the Crater. KopeLion adopt a very successful model of using local ‘Ilchokuti’ (lion guardians) in the area to help address and mitigate this decline.
Environment
Nomad prides themselves in their eco-friendly design, food sourcing, waste management and plastic use. They have ensured that Entamanu Camp’s design had minimalism in mind meaning complete immersion in its natural surroundings and have reduced their overall ‘food miles’ sourcing, wherever possible, from local communities.
Community
Nomad runs the Nomad Trust, a project that channels their influence inro projects that safeguard the future. They donate 100% of camp shop profits, massage proceeds, and guest donations to its partner projects; Tanzanian Children’s Fund (TCF) & KopeLion. TCF is home to 97 vulnerable children, meeting their everyday needs and investing in their futures. TCF also runs social welfare and health programmes, as well as projects that fund micro-finance women groups in the community.
