Location
With 83 whitewashed adobe casitas set amongst 12 acres of lush gardens and cloud forest this is a verdant, homely, yet luxurious location that is perfectly situated for visits to nearby Machu Picchu.
Accommodation
The Inkaterra Machu Picchu is no ordinary hotel with rooms: it is a complete village complex where guests stay in a casita, a traditional single-storey dwelling. The village has stunning views of the Vilcanota River, and wandering about you’ll have splendid opportunities for birdwatching, as well as to admire the many varieties of native orchids.
Every casita has its own wood burning fireplace and a large dining area where you can choose to eat if you’d rather not go to the restaurant. The large marble bathrooms offer indoor bathing or an open air shower, and as soon as you slip into your Andean robes and slippers you will totally switch off.

In terms of facilities, we love the Unu Spa. The therapists here use natural local products and place them on different areas of your body depending on the type of benefit you wish to receive. The gorgeous restaurant serves fresh, local dishes made from seasonal ingredients, and of course there is a standout wine selection to accompany your meals.
We love the fact that this resort has always made huge efforts to be sustainable and low-impact. Not content with just being carbon-negative and restoring many acres of cloud forest, the owners are involved in a number of scientific and social enterprises.
