The Islands of Siankaba is a five star retreat offering seven luxurious chalets on two private islands with spectacular, secluded river views. It is between the famous Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park, a wildlife-spotter’s paradise known for its diversity and density of wildlife.
The retreat is set on two islands and offers a choice of seven secluded chalets that are built into the forest fringed riverbank.
The rooms feature simple yet luxurious wooden interiors that reflect the Zambian setting, featuring stand-alone baths and private balconies. A more secluded Honeymoon Suite is also available, including the option of private candlelit dinners on the balcony overlooking the riverbank.

If you’re looking for an indulgent stay there are a wide range of spa treatments available, including a Zambezi Hot Stone Massage and a Pure Organic Zambian Facial.
If you’re thinking of heading out on a day trip, you can start with a guided nature trail walk, and can take a trip to Victoria Falls or a visit to Siankaba Village. Another way to learn more about Zambia’s wildlife is to see the waterways from a mokoro (canoe) and stop on the way for a picnic island lunch.

Environment
A key aspect of Islands of Siankaba’s environmental protection efforts is the establishment of a suspension bridge linking the two islands and leading to an overhead walkway in the tree canopy that connects the elevated chalets to the lodge's restaurant. This walkway protects the islands' delicate riverine environment. In the lodge’s construction, where local wood was used, the lodge planted hardwood saplings to replace them and electricity is drawn from the Victoria Falls hydroelectric plant.
Community
The Siankaba Trust works with the U Foundation, a UK registered charity who assist those in rural African communities to build better lives, and have raised funds to build a school for 60 children equipped with toys, books, solar power and running water. Community workshops take place at the school after hours, enabling the whole community to benefit. An expansion programme that began as a nursery school is under way and has now reached grade 2 level. They plan to grow a grade each year until it becomes a fully-fledged school which will provide primary education up to grade 7.
