Location
Just 30 minutes from Kilimanjaro airport, This beautiful inn will become your sanctuary. Situated in Northern Tanzania, on the outskirts of the busy town of Arusha. Stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro await, with a promise of adventure within several wildlife reserves in the area.
Accommodation
The emphasis is on maximising comfort, with each room being individually styled and uniquely furnished with its own character. The ten self-contained guestrooms are located either in the main farmhouse or within the ten acre gardens and flower farm. Two larger 'River Cottages' offer private decks and wood burning fireplaces.
With two double bedrooms, a shared lounge area, and an extensive wrap-around porch overlooking the babbling river that runs along the property border, the spacious River House is ideal for small parties or families. For a more private stay, we recommend this option.

The old farmhouse, restaurant, lounge area and bar are cosily furnished, combining old world ambiance, African country elegance, excellent farm cuisine, and personal service. Inviting fireplaces ward off the evening chill and country style kitchens round off the picture of a peaceful African home.There is also a small swimming pool and a spa ‘banda’ where you can enjoy massages.

- Take a fascinating look into Tanzanian daily life on a guided village tour of Usa River. A fantastic opportunity to engage with lively local culture in the heart of the community and discuss farming techniques with the people working the nearby fields.
- Take the afternoon to canoe across the crater lake of Lake Duluti Forest Reserve. Surrounded by beautiful forest slopes, its placid surface provides breathtaking vistas of Mount Meru and an abundance of local birds.
- Choose from three incredible national park tours. Tarangire National Park offers a rich elephant population. Manyara National Park boasts one of the magnificent soda lakes in East Africa; Lake Manyara. Nearby Arusha National Park hosts a range of activities to fully appreciate this unique location.

Rivertrees encourages their guests to visit The Shanga House in Arusha, a charitable enterprise that employs and empowers people with disabilities to create a variety of breathtakingly beautiful goods out of hand-blown recycled glass. Its jewellery, tableware and range of products designed to add an element of the extraordinary to any home are now widely sold, the profits of which go toward pioneering new creations and training greater numbers of talented disabled people in the art of glass.

Promoted by Rivertrees Country Inn, Wild Tracks fair trade coffee farm takes pride in sourcing organic, fair trade coffee by supporting the locally founded Aranga Coffee Group. Made up of 28 Tanzanian families, some of whose coffee bushes date back to 1910, they handpick, pulp and dry the coffee before it is roasted and ground into a rich, world-class brew. A visit to the farms showcases the whole process from start to finish, offering insight into traditional farming methods as well as Nkoaranga Village’s thriving agricultural lifestyle.
