Singita Sweni is one of the finest all-round safari lodges in South Africa. It combines the highest quality accommodation, cuisine and spa facilities with an authentic top quality adventurous game viewing experience. While most safari lodges in and around the Kruger are located on relatively small private reserves, which are shared with their neighbours leading to sometimes quite busy game viewing conditions, Singita Sweni and its sister camp, Lebombo, are the only lodges allowed to use this prime 15,000-hectare private game reserve which is located within the eastern part of the Kruger National Park. It is very separate from other safari lodges.
Singita Sweni is one of the most luxurious safari lodges in Africa with six air-conditioned suites measuring approximately 100m². The accommodation is largely open plan with an enormous bed, elegant furnishings, two bathrooms and massage bed, and outside your huge glass frontage is a balcony with fine views across the river and the reserve. Singita Sweni also has a high quality spa with a wide range of treatments, a good size pool, a gym and superb restaurant where the finest cuisine is served.
This part of the Kruger area is rather drier, with large areas of open plains, forests and two rivers, which attract large numbers of wildlife, and the animals here are very numerous. On a safari at Singita Sweni you can expect to see many elephant, a variety of antelope, good numbers of giraffe, zebra, substantial herds of buffalo and many other creatures both great and small. This is also a very good part of the Kruger for sighting predators with cheetah, leopard and lion all present in good numbers.
While some South African lodges focus far more on the luxury than on the game viewing experience, this is not the case at Singita Sweni. The guides are highly experienced and will take you on safari on foot when their finely honed tracking skills become apparent and they reveal their deep love and knowledge of not only the larger and more obvious creatures, but the fascinating aspects of vegetation, birdlife, insects and smaller creatures which live together to sustain their fragile environment. Larger numbers of big game can be seen as you take drives by open vehicle throughout the reserve, during the day and at night when you may see nocturnal creatures such as porcupine, civet, honeybadger and aardvark.
We specialise in creating unique safaris individually tailored to the interests and convenience of each client. You may wish to spend a few days at Singita Sweni as part of a safari encompassing several contrasting regions of South Africa. Alternatively, you may decide that three or four days at Singita Sweni should be followed by a visit to Cape Town, a remote Indian Ocean island or another part of Africa. Our service is outstanding and we know these areas intimately. Contact us now by telephone or email and we will create a superb holiday perfectly tailored to your requirements.

There is a world of difference between one of our tailormade safaris and most package holidays printed in a brochure. Package holidays are usually designed to be as cheap as possible and of course involve large numbers of people doing the same thing. Our safaris use small, more exclusive and remote camps usually with guests flying in, and often virtually everything is included in the price. The experience is completely different.
Many of these small lodges and camps have broadly similar prices, and it is possible to arrange a superb two week safari for between £4,000 to £7,000 per person ($7,000 – $11,000) season dependant, all inclusive. Realistically it is difficult to reduce that figure, and by including Botswana in peak season, chartering a private plane, disappearing to some magical desert island, or flying at the front of the plane it’s easy to substantially increase that figure!
