  • Explore the Lastarria district of Chile’s capital city, renowned as a trendy and vibrant mixture of bars, cafes and irresistible shops.

  • Bellavista, a hillside neighbourhood is well worth a visit. Numerous artists and writers have made it their home, so the atmosphere is inspiring.

  • A walk up the hills of either San Cristobal or Santa Lucia to be rewarded by excellent views of the city.

  • For art lovers, we recommend the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, which is crammed full of works by famous Chilean artists.
Days 3 - 6
Lake District
Isla Grande de Chiloé in the Chilean Lake District Is the second largest in South America. An island of green hills, rocky coastlines, picturesque fishing villages and immense ecological diversity.

  • Take a boat tour through historic Castro. Discover ‘palafitos’ (traditional stilted houses), grand churches and authentic craft markets.

  • Connect with the essence of Chiloé on a kayak tour through unique channels and ever-changing tidal wetlands. Admire the abundant wildlife as you learn about maritime legends and fishing traditions.

  • A summer hike through the native forests of Ahuenco Park offers the best time to spot the island’s two main penguin species; Magellanic and Humboldt, as they come to reproduce and raise their young.
Days 7 - 9
Patagonia National Park
Fast flowing mountain rivers and dotted with photogenic lakes, Patagonia National Park was established by the Tompkins Foundation. Owners Douglas and Kristine Tompkins, who first came here almost 30 years ago, have poured their souls into its conservation.

  • Learn about the local environment, at the Exploration Center, created in close collaboration with the National Forestry Corporation (CONAF)

  • After a long day of adventuring head to your spa and soak in an outdoor hot tub, under the canopy of a million twinkling stars.

  • Birdwatchers will revel in ticking off a potential 105 species, including the flightless Nandu bird (Darwin’s Rhea) and the bright red-headed Magellanic Woodpecker.

Torres del Paine
The Torres del Paine National Park is famed for its rugged beauty which invites serious exploration, as Sir Francis Drake, Charles Darwin and many modern day adventurers can attest to. It is a lush network of towering mountains, four giant glaciers, milky blue glacial lakes, lush Pine and Lenga forests, and windswept grasslands.

  • With your expert local guide, embark on a quest to learn about and spot the elusive puma amidst stunning scenery.

  • Get up close to the Grey Glacier. Complete with crampons and an ice axe, you will peer into deep blue crevasses.
