Location
The house sits on the shores of Lake Naivasha, in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley. In the distance is the towering volcano, Mount Longonot and all around you are areas of forest and beautiful undulating country.

The accommodation is either in the main house and in a number of very comfortable and well-designed cottages surrounded by gardens and lawns which run down to the water’s edge. The guest rooms and the lounge and dining room are all furnished and decorated in a homely, country style and guests enjoy wandering around the grounds down to the lake shore where you can see pelicans, flamingos and other water-birds.

  • Enjoy safaris in Lake Nakuru National Park which has a wide range of animals including giraffe, zebra, many types of antelope, lion, leopard and many more. Lake Nakuru itself is usually home to tens of thousands of flamingos and other water-birds too.

  • Spend the day at the impressive Hells Gate National Park - accompanied by a specialist guide, you’ll learn about the area’s unusual geological towers, caves and gorges, as well as its wildlife, including some of the most spectacular birdlife in the Rift Valley.
  • Hop on a boat and discover Lake Naivasha, a beautifully calm lake at over 6,000 feet above sea level which is perfect for keen bird-watchers and photographers.

  • Visit the local primary school which is partially funded by a trust set up by Lolida’s management and longstanding guests.

The camp supports the Rhino Ark and Calagary Zoo Mountain Forest conservation partnership, a team dedicated to monitoring, protecting and conserving the nearby Eburru Forest habitat for the critically endangered mountain bongo and other species.

Loldia House supports the nearby Loldia Primary School, originally a small, mud and wattle farm school, built to serve the children of the area. Over the last fifteen years the school’s population has quadrupled, from 500 students to just over 2000 serving more of the children in the region!

Loldia House supports the Eburru Rafiki Forest Community Group in their tree planting efforts, focussing on the Mau-Eburru Forest. This is a critical mountain bongo habitat located on the mountainous hills above the property. Guests are welcome to take part in the tree-planting programme!
